House of Fire & Blood – Episode 18 “Do Wise Women Dream of Electric Meat?”

This entry is part 18 of 35 in the series House of Fire & Blood

This piece was written during the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Without the labor of the writers and actors currently on strike, the TV series being covered here wouldn’t exist.

What if George R. R. Martin’s Fire and Blood was written more like HBO’s House of the Dragon? Caroline and Gretchen analyze Martin’s work from this perspective and search for hidden stories in the text.

This week Gretchen and Caroline continue their analysis of Fire & Blood with the ninth chapter, Birth, Death, and Betrayal Under King Jaehaerys I Part 1. Jaehaerys starts his grassroots campaign among the small folk, Rhaena is maybe a little traumatized, and Alysanne is almost assassinated (pour one out for Rosamund Ball) in this thrilling section. And remember kids, incest is good and definitely has no genetic repercussions!
