Wizards of the Coast and Beadle & Grimm’s have partnered again for Here Be Dragons, a limited-edition Secret Lair drop that combines 7 epic dragon-themed cards with a coordinated set of must-have accessories in a presentation sure to surprise collectors. This will be the Pandemonium Warehouse’s second partnership with Magic the Gathering after Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty Platinum Edition.

The Secret Lair x Beadle & Grimm’s Here Be Dragons drop will contain:

 ·       Seven (7) limited-edition traditional foil cards featuring classic D&D dragon and hoard art, gradually revealed in a fold-out papercraft display

 ·       Metal dragon life counter on a 2.5” diameter base that counts up to 45, nestled in a sleek, foam-fitted tin case

 ·       Deck box with a black dragon scale exterior and a secret surprise that must be discovered by the owner

 ·       Set of 100 Inferno of the Star Mounts (red dragon)-themed card sleeves

“This Secret Lair drop is so secret we’re not even telling you everything you’ll find in the box. It would spoil some of the fun,” said Matthew Lillard, Beadle & Grimm’s lead on Here Be Dragons. “Classic dragon Magic cards? Delivered with items from their hoards? I mean, c’mon, that is SO up our alley. We’re thrilled to be collaborating with the Wizards team on this drop.”

“Secret Lair is the weirder, riskier, more out-there arm of Magic: The Gathering, but by comparison Matt Lillard and the Beadle & Grimm’s crew make us look like the finance department. These people are unhinged in the and I still can’t believe some of the stuff they pulled off for this project,” said Mark Heggen, Product Architect for Magic the Gathering.

Previous Secret Lair drops have included partnerships with Street Fighter and Arcane as well as themed drops like this month’s Pride Across The Multiverse. They’ve generally been a way for the MtG team to stretch the game a little bit and work with new artists and creators. They also usually have extra things to entice buyers like zines and Magic The Gathering: Arena Codes, and special deck boxes or sleeves.

Beadle and Grimm’s Pandemonium Warehouse was founded by a group of nerds in California including actor and longtime gaming enthusiast Matthew Lillard (Scooby Doo, The Descendants), Jon Ciccolini, Bill Rehor, Charlie Rehor, and Paul Shapiro. They’ve worked extensively with Dungeon & Dragons (See here, here, or here) but recently have branched out into partnerships with Pathfinder, Critical Role, and Magic The Gathering.
