Fandoms and the Breakdown of the Fourth Wall

Published

on

Elizabeth, Kori, and Seher talk about how social media has helped bring about the breakdown of the fourth wall between fandoms and creators/actors… and the negative consequences that follow.

When not working on her degree or at her actual job, Elizabeth pursues her true passion of complaining at great length about pop culture on the internet. She serves as a Managing Editor for The Fandomentals. You can find her on Tumblr, Twitter and Steam @ohemgeelizabeth

I loved the episode, though I am not deep enough into fandoms to have had the sort of acute negative experiences you describe. So Yay! for the Fandomentals for providing a positive place to engage with fandom!
