Carol Awards on Monday!

That’s right folks, after an intense round of voting, the results are in, which only means one thing: it’s time to unroll that red carpet and celebrate the absolute finest Game of Thrones Season 7 had to offer!

Of course, there’s plenty of Carol Award veterans returning, but we’re pleased to see so many new faces among the nominees. We think they’re all winners in their own right, but with just under 50 Golden Carols to give out, taking one home is quite the achievement in dramatic satisfaction. To properly celebrate, be sure to check back on this site on Monday, December 4th 2017 for the 3rd Annual Carol Awards.

Some may recall how the first ceremony was hosted on Kylie‘s Tumblr blog, while last year’s involved embedding countless MP3s that did not at all nearly crash the site or frustrate users. Well, in an effort to both live up the Carol Awards’ illustrious reputation and provide an entertaining experience that is low in aggravation, the ceremony will be slightly different this year. There will be an interactive post right here on The Fandomentals, but the presentations and announcements of winners will also be all within one podcast on the Unabashed Book Snobbery feed. Kylie and Julia are welcoming back Season 7 podcasting veteran (and clothing snob) Caroline, and the three ladies will serve as your MCs.

For an extra bit of fun, Caroline did not see the results of the voting prior to this ceremony, meaning that her reactions will be completely raw and uncensored (Kylie and Julia had to count the ballots, though their excitement is certainly still palpable). Further, they will all take you on a journey through some of the best Carol Award history, while giving keen insight and context for the numerous categories as they come up.

So get ready, iron your very finest battle cardigan, grab a bowl of gumbo, and we’ll see you all on Monday as we learn who is truly worthy of this highest honor.
