This article is a guest piece contributed by Manson L from

Villains are rotten to the core. This means that no matter what they do they are meant to be hated. One cannot simply claim to like a villain more than the hero. But in the world of anime, there are quite a few individuals who are leagues above the hero.

They are not only smarter and more powerful but are also more cool. Such a case is common where non anime watchers might just think the villains to be the protagonist of the story. This is because these villains look cooler when compared to the hero of the series. There is a certain charm to them.

The way they talk, walk and even fight seems more elegant. One can’t come to hate them due to their inherent love for beauty. Even then if the twisted mentality of said villains comes to light, many blame the protagonist to be at fault. That’s why we have gathered the top 5 anime villains who make the hero look bad so that you don’t fall for their devilish charm.

#5 Tsukasa Shishio

Anime: Dr. Stone

Tsukasa Shishio from Dr. Stone
“I’ll promise you one thing: you two will never be in danger again.”

The manliest man in this list of charming villains is none other than Tsukasa. Even before he returned to the Stone World, he was the strongest high school primate. Which in simple terms means the strongest highschooler. In fact, the moment he opens his eyes within the stone world, he sees a lion and sucker punches it. Yes, he punches a lion instead of running.

But he is not all brawn. He has a personality which is both fearless and calculative. He knows Might make right but also knows that Might can’t solve all problems. That is why he was friendly with Senku after de-stoning. He gathered knowledge about current affairs first.

And once he was confident enough, he showed his true colors. Despite this not many can hate him. That’s because of his ideals. He wants to rebuild the current apocalyptic society into a classless one. He believes in a world where all are equal. But the way he wants to achieve his dream is twisted. He won’t bat an eye even when killing a defenseless human statue.

#4 Hisoka Morow

Anime: Hunter x Hunter

Hunter x Hunter villain Hisoka Morow
Right now, I’m letting you live. And I’ll continue to keep you alive… until you’ve grown enough to become worth killing.”

Not all villains are out there for world domination. If they have a unique aim, then they captivate the fans. And if they have good looks on top of this uniqueness, then they are sure to be the center of attention. Such is the character of Hisoka.

He is a clown who is not like the regular ones. With a chisel cut body, Hisoka has the looks of a hero. Yes he does have a twisted personality similar to his pink hair but he is a clown, can you blame him? Unlike most villains, hisoka is not that much into bloodshed. He just wants to have a fun fight. And the definition of a fun fight from his point of view is a fight with the strong.

He is not afraid of death for this fear of death or losing a fight is what gives him the thrill. His clown-like look instead of being a turn down became the key of attraction. To be honest, Hisoka is the only one who can pull off a hot and badass clowney look.

#3 Griffith

Anime: Berserk

Berserk villain Griffith
“For me, you are just the bricks I use to build the path to my dream.”

Griffith to many is the scum of the Berserk world. He sold his entire mercenary group as an offering. And if that wasn’t enough, he attacked Gut’s love interest in front of him. He is like a character who was born to be hated. But still there are many who find this twisted psychopath charming.

They are so mesmerized by his beauty that they even started a real life campaign. And to help their cause, the campaign slogan was “Griffith did nothing wrong!” I mean can you imagine supporting someone who is ruthless only because that person suits your taste?

Yes, doing such an act is impossible. But if the person in question is Griffith with his near impossible charm, then there are sure to be some fanatics who are willing to do the bidding but no matter how you look at it, this beautiful male specimen has a heart that is darker than a Black Hole.

#2 Sosuke Aizen

Anime: Bleach

Bleach villain Sosuke Aizen
“”I had no intention of deceiving anyone. It’s just that none of you could understand…My true self.”

Bleach is filled with attractive and charming characters. It has Ichigo and Orihime for God’s sake. But still, Aizen takes the prize. He is like the Moriarty of the anime world only if Moriarty was thousands of times cooler. He has the brains and the brawn to make the Soul Society dance within his palms.

If one looks at Aizen during his fight with Ichigo and disregards all the evil things he did, then they will surely mistake Aizen for the protagonist. In his full white doppo Aizen pulls off a Godly look that will make you start craving for his attention. And to top it all off, his looks are backed by his brains.

He is a master manipulator who can make you do his bidding without you even realizing that you are doing so. Heck, even if you knew that he was manipulating you, you might just want to do all his bidding just hoping to get on his good side. Maybe that is why he was able to gather such a great following within Soul Society despite openly betraying them.

#1 Muzan Kibutsuji

Anime: Demon Slayer

Demon Slayer villain Muzan Kibutsuji
Only feelings are eternal and undying. That is true. I do not remember a single human being I have killed.”

Different people have different preferences. Some like muscular characters while some prefer slender types. But Muzan can undoubtedly satisfy all your visual tastes. This is only possible because of his Demon blood.

Appearance to him is child’s play. Hecan turn into a tall muscular man who has a flawless face at one instance. While the very next moment he can turn into a mid height woman with not the same but similar face. The first time he appeared, he had the coolest look of them all.

But soon his demon-like nature was shown, many cried due to how the facial veins were popping. It was unsightly. Still many found even this look of Muzan. That is because the flawless & beautiful face of his enough to captivate the hearts of both male and female viewers with ease.
