CD PROJEKT RED and Go On Board have announced that the crowdfunding campaign for The Witcher: Legacy, a story-driven board game set in the universe of The Witcher, has now launched on Gamefound.
The Witcher: Legacy focuses on an earlier chapter in the timeline, long before the era of Geralt of Rivia. Presented as a long-form tabletop campaign, its narrative is divided into interconnected scenarios played over multiple sessions. Players journey across Kaedwen and the Northern Kingdoms, exploring misty marshes, remote villages, and bustling cities, including the Ban Ard sorcerers’ school. As they progress, players develop their witchers by refining a personal deck of combat actions, improving attributes, and expanding an alchemy book with new potions and bombs. Legacy-style mechanics track key decisions and permanent changes to cards, boards, and maps, allowing regions, characters, and challenges to evolve, leaving a unique mark on the Continent with each campaign.
Developed in close collaboration between Go On Board and CD PROJEKT RED, The Witcher: Legacy is a story-driven board game for 1 to 4 players, set during a pivotal moment in history of the Continent. Kaer Morhen has been attacked, many witchers of the School of the Wolf have fallen, and the survivors seek answers. Players take on the role of these remaining witchers, deciding who to trust as they search for those responsible.

On the campaign page, Go On Board presents various pledge options and expands the project through stretch goals that add new free content and upgrades. Throughout the campaign, updates from the development team will highlight newly unlocked elements and changes to the project as it develops.
As part of the crowdfunding offer, everyone who backs the campaign on day one will receive an exclusive Gorgon monster set added to their copy of the game at no additional cost. This set includes a detailed miniature, dedicated encounter cards and a short quest that can be integrated into the main campaign. The Gorgon has not appeared in previous Witcher games and is not planned for standard retail release, making it an exclusive addition reserved for the Gamefound campaign
Full details of The Witcher: Legacy, including campaign structure, pledge options, and stretch goals, are available on Gamefound.
