The Season 8 Carols Announcement: 5 more days of voting!

The Season 8 Carol awards are well underway, with voting throughout the past week. For those who may be unaware, we here at The Fandomentals makes sure to honor TV’s best program with our own awards show, since clearly 32 nominations for those silly ol’ Emmys is not enough to capture the essence of greatness.

That’s right, we’re here to make sure the highlights of Game of Thrones‘s final season truly shines, with such categories as “Best Political Machination,” “Most Meme-tastic Moment,” and “Most Plausible Impossibility.”

Despite seven days of voting from our most astute viewers, it is still a race to see who will clutch the Golden Carols in the end. Will Varys break his 3 year streak for the “Saint Tyrion Ultimate Fan Award”? Which of Sansa’s clearly unreasonable actions during the season will take the cake? What was the finest and most deft seeding for Dany’s completely earned turn-about? And truly, what was this year’s most empowering moment in a season full of that…really…great…messaging.

Heck, even the write-ins for “Most Egregious Nomination Oversight” have heated up. So if you haven’t already, be sure to get your official ballot here and cast your vote. Make Carol Award history! Voting will close Sunday, July 28th at 10pm EST, so be sure to share with friends and family too. Because if there’s one thing that can bring us together, it’s the need to honor such intense dramatic satisfaction.
