Netflix Announces The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance

The Dark Crystal film in 1982 was a huge part of my childhood. It was something I only ever saw occasionally, but when I did it had me completely captivated. When I wasn’t watching it, its name was uttered with a kind of reverence reserved for things you didn’t quite understand, and were maybe a little afraid of; like the film might become real and pull you in.

Now, 35 years after the Dark Crystal film’s release, Jim Henson’s creature shop, director Louis Leterrier, and Brian Froud, the original concept artist from the 1982 film are teaming up with Netflix to bring us a 10-episode prequel series, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. Return to the world of Thra with a small band of Gelfling battling against the terrifying Skeksis during their rise to power.

I don’t know about anyone else, but my inner child is excited, terrified even, but my adult self is thrilled that we are finally getting more Dark Crystal. Check out the teaser below and let us know what you think!
