Music Video Thunderdome: BTS

Let’s face it. Certain things aren’t terribly happy right now and many of us have had several parts of our life come screeching to a halt. While we could do some deep dive praxis analytical scope of the socio-economic effects of the shutdown, well, everything sucks and we want to have some fun for a little bit. To that end, we’re going to spend the next several days doing a top-five ranking of our favorite music artists’ music videos. But, there can be only five, which means we’re gonna have to kill some darlings. Today’s artist is BTS, so buckle up. Below are our top five music videos for the boys. Let us know in the comments if you agree with us, or tell us what your own top five BTS list looks like!

Dope

This was my one pick to stay on this list out of all of Seher’s competing favorites and I can’t even articulate why beyond “pretty boys dance good”. Though in all seriousness, how many hours do they practice, because those moves are crisper than a brand new dollar bill.

Black Swan

Honestly, it’s so hard to choose just five favorites, but this video is so strong and shows how much they’ve grown. To be honest, this being a surprise video made it so much more fun to watch.

Blood Sweat & Tears

I’m definitely five hundred of the views on Youtube. This was the second video I watched of theirs and I was hooked! I even tried to learn some of the choreography…(tried is the key word).

Fake Love

Another video full of symbolism! (Though to be fair any Army knows the BTS video universe is a wild time.) Also that dance break? Chefs kiss.

Idol

Of course, “Idol” has to be on this list. One of their most colorful and full of symbolism videos, Idol was released at a key time in their career and is still on my favorites on Spotify.

Honorable Mentions: On, DNA
