Modiphius Set To Publish TTRPG Based On Ubisoft’s Classic Heroes of Might & Magic Series

Modiphius Entertainment (Dreams & Machines, Star Trek Adventures) has today announced a licensing agreement with Ubisoft to bring the epic storyline of the cult video game franchise Heroes of Might & Magic to the tabletop. Modiphius will be partnering with Polish developer Lans Macabre, who are huge fans of the property and will be developing the game using the Modiphius 2d20 RPG system. The game will be launched with a crowdfunding campaign in early 2025 for a late 2025 release into retail.

Heroes of Might & Magic TTRPG

The game is set in the World of Enroth, the settings of the first three Heroes of Might & Magic installments in the series, and players will be able to relive some of the most epic and memorable moments in the saga, starting with “The Restoration of Erathia”, the crusade of Queen Catherine Ironfist to restore her Kingdom and uncover a conspiracy.

The turn-based Heroes of Might & Magic series debuted in 1995 with Heroes of Might and Magic: A Strategic Quest, though some consider 1990’s A King’s Bounty to an unofficial progenitor to the series. It spun off of the more traditional Might & Magic RPG series created by 3DO, releasing alongside it until the series was purchased by Ubisoft. The most recent entry in the series,Might & Magic Heroes VII, was released in 2015. This is the first time the series has made the jump to the tabletop.

The Great Forest Wall

This is the first high-fantasy edition of the 2d20 system. It will set players as legendary heroes who are key figures able to call on the resources of a nation and lead formidable armies of diverse combatants drawn from the myriad of species that inhabit the world into daring assaults and venerable last stands. Players will be able to control multiple characters and immerse themselves in a world shaped by their actions according to their whims. They will face challenges of mythical proportions, in a reflection of the popular fantasy franchise.
