The Fandomentals Lifestyle Gift Guide 2020

This year, gifting holidays are quite weird between quarantines, semi-lockdowns, and everything in between. Of course this doesn’t mean that there aren’t safe options for anyone looking to get gifts for their loved ones!

Here I’ve picked out five gift suggestions for make-up, skincare, and general subscription box products.

Makeup

I love eyeshadow so both my recommendations are eyeshadow forward, but both companies have other products!

Colourpop

MUCH EYESHADOW, much makeup, much local (CA). Plus Colourpop doesn’t test on animals and are known for pretty much always releasing fun new shades and items. Literally all my eyeshadow is from them now.

Musee Beauty

Musee Beauty is a small indie brand created by two sisters completely inspired by art. The palette pictured is their Impressionism inspired eyeshadow palette, but they also have a few lip glazes, and a Van Gogh inspired palette with more releases coming.

Skincare

Skincare has grown massively in the last few years and especially now that folks are concerned about maskne and other related concerns.

Farmacy Beauty

F is for Farm, for Farmacy Beauty’s farm to face concept. Working with a second-generation, family-owned moringa farm in Southern California and an acerola cherry farm in Northeast Brazil, their own beehives (!!), the company’s products are all cruelty, formaldehyde donor, synthetic fragrance, phthalate, and mineral oil free! To be fair most brands can list that they’re free of a ton of things, but this is the only brand that I’ve seen where their business practices don’t make me wanna run the other direction.

On the medium priced end, they’ve got numerous sets perfect for trying out yourself or gifting. Using this referral link gets you 15% off any purchase!

I’m new to skincare so I don’t feel comfortable recommending other items or brands that I haven’t tried, but Farmacy Beauty has been truly great so far!

Subscription Boxes

Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat have advertised subscription boxes to me for years and I’ve watched an unnecessary number of episodes with these boxes on SharkTank so I am totally qualified to suggest them to y’all!

FabFitFun

FabFitFun provides a selection of full-size products from the categories of beauty, fashion, fitness, wellness, home, and tech each season. Members also receive access to other perks like a streaming video service, add-on purchases, and a shop where previous box items are sold at a high discount.

Winter Box

You can gift a card at preset values to go towards a subscription of the gift recipient’s choice. One box is $49.99 (or less at this link) and $179.99 for the annual subscription for four boxes. Use my personal referral link and get a mini box alongside your first seasonal box!

Universal Yums

Well we definitely can’t travel as much this year and eat local foods, so why not bring tastes of those countries to us? Universal Yums sends a box of snacks and candies from a different country every month. Their products are delicious, unique, and often extremely difficult (or even impossible) to find in the United States. Each box also comes with an interactive guidebook to steer your adventure – including trivia, games, recipes, culture, and more!

Russia’s box.-Universal Yums

You can sign up for a subscription and receive boxes until you cancel or purchase a gift subscription which are available for 1, 3, 6, or 12 months.

Good luck gifting and happy holidays!
