It’s #SGJDay! Celebrating Stephen Graham Jones

Happy October! If you’re familiar with my reading tastes, you probably expected to see certain titles on my October Anticipated Releases list. Those are of course five of the six re-releases from Stephen Graham Jones. To celebrate the increased accessibility of his work, a team assembled to create #SGJDay. See below for all the festivities and enjoy the day!

Stephen Graham Jones

First, a word on the man we’re here for. I linked his website. It’s MASSIVE. So if that is overwhelming and you have no idea who this guy is, here‘s his author page with his current publisher, Saga Press. He is prolific, decorated, and absolutely brilliant. But don’t take my word for it. Read on to take a look at everyone celebrating.

JadeDaniels4Ever

The Etsy Shop that started it all, Greg Greene is best known for the “Jade Daniels Is My Final Girl” merch seen even on Stephen Graham Jones himself. Greg spearheaded the #SGJDay celebrations along with Amber Reu. They produced the commemorative buttons found here that were designed by Justin McElroy and Jason Ragosta.

Amber Reu

Speaking of Amber, here’s a link to her instagram. She is the founder of a bookclub called Novel Nightmares. Their read for May will be SGJ’s newest release! Amber also has some of the rarest SGJ books I’ve seen. And since I have some rarities, that’s saying something.

Tony and Matt – SGJ Book Club

If waiting til May is too far away, check in with Tony and Matt on instagram. These two host a book club for SGJ’s work that just passed 100 members! Their pages are worth a follow for more content on his work and plenty of other horror writers.

Anna Dupre’s Comprehensive Guide

Honestly I probably should have linked this last because Anna basically did my job for me. She’s got links and info on everything coming out today as well as in the near future. I highly recommend giving it a read! Anna also interviews authors on her YouTube channel, hoping to see SGJ on there one day.

The ARC Party Podcast

And if author interviews are what you like, another participant is Robb Olson, who hosts The ARC Party. Also like Anna, Robb has a post covering the releases along with the reviews he has done for his podcast here.

The Stephen Graham Jones Society

We were lucky to also be joined by the society’s president: Billy Stratton. If you’ve seen The Fictions of Stephen Graham Jones, he wrote it. He’s a fantastic academic resource for all things SGJ.

#SGJDay

We’d be here all day if I kept doing individual bios, but do yourself a favor and join these other incredible fans:

UnstableBooks – Part of SagaSaysCrew, the influencer team for SGJ’s publisher
Lorin Elise – Speedreading influencer to give you shelf and progress envy
Peg Deschamps Turley – A bookseller and influencer
Lisa Dolby – Another bookseller and influencer
(Support your local booksellers!)
Heather Jane – Bookish influencer for all things dark
Michael Robinson – Influencer and Mayor of Burkittsville, MD (Yes, that Burkittsville)
Jesse Lawrence – Influencer for horror movies and books

That’s everyone, except for two more people. One is, well, me. You know me here but you can also find me over on instagram. A lot of those people up there are my good friends. It’s a wonderful community.

The final participant is you, dear reader. And hey, I think you’re probably the most important! Don’t forget to use #SGJDay if you join us in celebrating this incredibly special author.
