R.Talsorian Games is expanding the options for Cyberpunk RED through a new solo play mode and a major expansion of the iconic Night City in their upcoming releases.
The publisher announced three new releases on Thursday. First up is Single Player Mode, a solo play guide and gamemaster emulator for its popular cyberpunk TTRPG. The book is a guide for how to play Cyberpunk RED without a gamemaster. The new rules were developed in tandem with Peter Norton, and is designed to give players the ability to generate and run a mission through random roll tables without a GM to guide it.
Players will need to own the Cyberpunk RED core rulebook to play, however. But players can generate a scenario to run through in solo gameplay, or with a group of friends.
“I’m really excited about solo play and have been wanting to make it for years,” J Gray, the line manager for Cyberpunk RED at R.Talsorian Games told The Fandomentals. “Because how many people have told me that they’d love to play, but can’t find people or only find those who want to play D&D. It’s also a great tool for a GM who wants to run a game but doesn’t have the time to create a scenario.”
Single Player Mode is expected to release in either late summer or early fall 2025.

Night City Gets Expanded
The next two books will be focused on adding and expanding the lore of Night City, the core setting featured in Cyberpunk Edgerunners and Cyberpunk 2077.
First up is Night City 2045, which is an expansive guide to the city during the 2045 period (Known to fans as the “Time of the Red” and is set prior to the popular video game. The book will add several new location details and go into extensive detail about the state of things. The book involves 19 authors developing the regions and fleshing out how the cultures interact with each other. The book will feature authors from across R.Talsorian’s team as well as freelancers like Mutans and Masterminds author Steve Kenson. Many of these authors are also drawing on their personal expertise to inform how to represent their cultures. Melissa Wong, Gray pointed out, will help to flesh out the game’s take on Chinatown while Venezuelan writer Fernando Damas is expanding Santo Domingo.
Night City 2045 does not have a set release date, but is expected some time in late 2025 or early 2026.
Finally is an unnamed Cyberpunk 2077 book, which will be a full campaign. The book will have rules for running Cyberpunk RED in the 2077 setting as well as a multi-mission campaign set in the Edgerunners/Cyberpunk setting. The book is being developed closely with CD Projekt Red (the devs for Cyberpunk 2077.)
These books will offer a comprehensive look at the setting that matches with the anime and game as well as offering opportunities to explore the lore. Gray described it as an option designed for people who want a campaign to work through that won’t require excess prep from them.
The book is expected to release in 2026, although Gray was unable to commit to a date.
Gray confirmed that Rusted Chrome, a book that R.Talsorian announced last year focused on the “loop between Edgerunners and Nomads in the Time of the Red”, is on hold. Gray explained that the project is being delayed due to the number of other projects on R.Talsorian’s plate. “Our eyes were too big for our stomach,” Gray admitted. So other projects will take priority in the meantime, while some of the contents may be seen in upcoming projects.
Thank you to R.Talsorian for sitting down to chat!
