New Trailer Reveals Gameplay Details For Upcoming Dungeons & Dragons Game Battlemarked

Resolution Games, with Wizards of the Coast, has released a new video that reveals Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked‘s setting and provides a sneak peek at gameplay for the first time. The studio also revealed that the game is projected to launch later this year across several platforms and is currently available for wishlisting in the PlayStationSteam and Meta Horizon stores.

“While the world of Demeo is rich with lore, our previous titles focus primarily on tactical action over motivation and narrative,” said Tommy Palm, founder and CEO of Resolution Games. “With Dungeons & Dragons, story is just as important as combat, so we’ve rebalanced our approach to make sure we can deliver more of it. With the addition of dramatic cut scenes, richer dialogue, and deeper player choices, Battlemarked truly marks the start of the next iteration of the Demeo Action Roleplaying System.”

To ensure the tone and lore of the Dungeons & Dragons universe are presented with precision, Resolution Games has tapped story designer Matt Sernett as the project’s narrative lead. Sernett previously worked as a designer of the Dungeons & Dragons tabletop game and contributed to Dungeons & Dragons video games including Baldur’s GateBaldur’s Gate II, and Icewind Dale. He has also provided narrative contributions to Destiny 2

“When Dungeons & Dragons launched fifth edition back in 2014, the first adventure that many players went on ventured into Neverwinter Wood, and I can think of no place better for Battlemarked players to begin their journey,” said Sernett. “The first adventure in Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked will take players to familiar locations including Cragmaw Castle and Mount Hotenow. The world of D&D is just as much a part of the story as its characters, and we can’t wait for players to immerse themselves in its dangers and delights.”

As of today’s wishlisting news, Resolution Games has revealed that the Battlemarked will be playable on Steam and PlayStation 5, with a VR version available on PlayStation VR2, Steam VR and Meta Quest 3 line of devices with support for Quest 2. More details about the exact launch date, additional platforms as well as the first details of Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked’s second adventure, which will be included at launch, will be revealed later this year. Resolution Games will also release a series of developer diaries in the coming months that delve deep behind-the-scenes to reveal more of the world, writing, and how core D&D elements have been translated to the Demeo system.
