Amphibia Fanzine “Cherry Limeade” Supports Families in Gaza Through Shipping

Fan artists and writers for the Disney Channel animated series, Amphibia, have joined hands collecting donations for families in Gaza, through proceeds from a ship-focused fanzine titled “Cherry Limeade – A Sasharcy Fanzine.”

The fanzine is dedicated to the popular fan-made ship between supporting characters, Sasha Waybright and Marcy Wu (thus the ship name; Sasharcy).

“We aim to explore the bond as well as the development of these characters throughout different stages during the show,” the zine’s website states in its introduction.

From their Instagram, the fanzine project has been in the works for a year, and has so far included 41 works of art from popular Amphibia fan artists such as Vinnie (@kyoryuv), Dia (@cosmic_dia), Blake (@bugsbian), and Cutetanuki_Chan (@cutetanuki_chan), as well as exclusive fan fictions and comics featuring the duo.

The online shop for Cherry Limeade – A Sasharcy Fanzine has opened pre-orders for the fanzine, bundled along with other merch, which costs between $15 to $90. The full bundle would include Sasharcy-themed keychains, standees, and badges. Pre-orders for the fanzine have been open since March 21, and will end on April 11. The link to the shop is at https://cherrylimeadezine.bigcartel.com/.

The team has stated that all profits from the sale of the fanzine will go towards Care for Gaza (@CareForGaza), a charity movement based in Gaza distributing food and essentials to families affected by the crisis implicated by Israeli forces.

Disney animation fans have been on a streak of charity recently. “No Big Deal”, an Amphibia-focused fanzine released last year, collected over $1,000 for Greenpeace USA. More recently, fans of an adjacent Disney show, “The Ghost and Molly McGee”, have collected $15,000 for Give Kids The World through a livestream with show staff, voice actors, and popular YouTubers.
