More than two dozen creators, publishers, and performers from across tabletop games, music, and more are joining forces for Power Word Resist, a one-night-only charity variety show and silent auction supporting RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) and GenderNexus, a nonprofit supporting gender-diverse individuals. The event will take place on July 30, 2025, at the Indianapolis Repertory Theater, with tickets on sale now via TicketSpice.
Taking place on Wednesday, July 30, the event features live comedy, drag artists, music, and a silent auction packed with more than $1,750 of exclusive tabletop gaming gear donated by some of the industry’s most recognized names, including Free League Publishing, Modiphius, Bad Squidoo Games, Gehenna Gaming, Renegade Game Studios, and many more (complete list is available here.)
Headlining the event is comedian Ify Nwadiwe, known for his work with Dropout.tv, alongside drag performer Juicy Garland, and musical guests Sonora, Mr. Clit and the Pink Cigarettes, and Moon Goons.
According to the organizers, Power Word Resist is “more than a show — it’s a rallying point for our tabletop community, a place where we come together in solidarity and creative generosity.”
“This show and auction strive to uplift our community as an act of joyful resistance,” notes Sara Lang, one of the event organizers. “We chose these causes to support people both on the local and national level who are being targeted by the current administration.”
“We’re always ready to support critical causes in our community like these, and happy to work with and alongside such great groups to do so this year,” said Ian E. Muller, CEO of Gehenna Gaming, one of the event sponsors. “Charities like RAINN and GenderNexus serve a critical role in both the tabletop community and on local and national levels to help protect, educate, and empower some of our most vulnerable.”
Power Word Resist was founded by Sara Lang (Blank Bodies), Erik Norris (City of Glass Games, Gehenna Gaming), and Calleigh Fisher (City of Glass Games) to develop and organize charity events to protect and empower vulnerable members of the community from individual and systemic abuse. As the organization grows, more information will be available at www.powerwordresist.com.
