Pandasaurus announced today it had acquired publishing rights for Sobek Two Players, the 2021 implementation of 2010’s Sobek from original designer Bruno Cathala (Kingdomino) and Sébastien Pauchon (Jaipur, Jamaica). The rules have been adapted and balanced to suit two player strategy, addressing initial player feedback.

Players represent a guild of merchants trying to take advantage of the thriving market that has sprung up around the newly constructed Temple of Sobek, a pharaonic god often asked for protection from Nile flooding. Each turn, you’ll choose one of the available Goods tile from the board, then move the Ankh token according to the markings on the chosen tile. This determines and limits the tiles your opponent can choose on their turn.
The more tiles there are between the Ankh pawn and the tile you take, the more Corruption you’ll gain for taking it. The least corrupt player will earn extra points at the end of the game.

The game joins other recent transatlantic deals for Pandasaurus like Trek 12, Wild Space, and The Loop. It’s set for a release on May 25th.
