She-Ra Season 3 Trailer Drops, Jacket and Whip Included

After the rather…precarious positions of our main characters at the end of season 2 of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, I worried we might have to wait a while for season 3. Have no fear! Adventure arrives in mere weeks! An adventure including new characters, new settings, and new clothing/weapon choices to tease us. Oh, and we’ll probably get more answers about She-Ra, Adora, and Hordak. I’m not sure that matters quite as much.

What do we know? Catra has been sent to Beast Island after Shadow Weaver’s escape. She’ll apparently fight, make friends, and antagonize Adora as usual. Shadow Weaver herself shows up in Bright Moon and appears to be (understandably) held captive at one point in the trailer. Adora appears to be fed up with the lack of answers regarding her birth and She-Ra destiny. She’ll come across a new character named Huntara, voiced by Geena freaking Davis. Hordak also seems poised to make a new push at crushing the Princess rebellion. Was that line about not having the power to stop him aimed at Entrapta, or merely a tricky edit? I’m hoping for the former. My sweet child Entrapta and her new robots need to return to the side of good. It would be great if she took Scorpia with her.

There’s also a lot of shushing. Will Glimmer and Bow just find a room and make out already?

Most likely this season will function as the second half of the plotlines introduced in season 2, and hopefully, give us the resolutions missing from said season. I liked season 2, but it was an obvious set-up season, meant to introduce things to be resolved later. She-Ra has done so many things right so far that I have no reason to expect differently this time around. I’m ready for it. Ready for answers, ready for action, ready for more of this wonderful show.

Season 3 of She-Ra hits Netflix on August 2.
