Peacock‘s comedy Rutherford Falls returns this summer, with big changes on the way for the community of Rutherford Falls and the neighboring Minishonka Nation. Now, first look images have been revealed teasing some of the things coming up as well as a special reveal for the release date using beadwork designs by Brodie Sanchez (Shoshone-Bannock Tribe).
In Season 2 of Peacock’s hit comedy Rutherford Falls, life-long best buds Nathan Rutherford (Ed Helms) and Reagan Wells (Jana Schmieding) help each other tackle work, romance, and major changes to their small town and the Native American reservation it borders, initiated by Tribal Casino C.E.O. Terry Thomas (Michael Greyeyes).
“’Rutherford Falls’ is back! Get ready to laugh, cry, and swoon. Do people still swoon?,” asked showrunner and series co-creator Sierra Teller Ornelas, “Well, they will now! Ed Helms, Mike Schur, and I had an absolute blast making a show that’s heartfelt, laugh-out-loud funny, and depicts Native Americans in ways you never see on television. Also, a lot of people get punched/kicked in the face. We hope you enjoy Season 2!”
Rutherford Falls was created by Ornelas, Michael Schur, and Ed Helms. The three also executive produce alognside Mike Falbo, David Miner and Morgan Sackett. Helms stars alongside Lakota actress Jana Schmieding, with Plains Cree actor Michael Greyeyes, Mdewakanton Dakota and Dene actor Dallas Goldtooth, and Mohawk actress Kaniehtiio Horn rounding out the Indigenous cast. Jesse Leigh and Dustin Milligan also star. The eight episode second season debuts on Peacock on June 16.
