Ravensburger has announced the newest set coming to the wildly popular Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game lineup. During yesterday’s Lorecast event, Ravensburger revealed details about Shimmering Skies, the fifth set of Disney Lorcana TCG, that not only welcomes new Disney characters and evolved game mechanics to the Disney Lorcana TCG universe but also gives players a glimpse of what’s next for the realm now that the power-hungry Ursula glimmer has been defeated. Shimmering Skies will be released first at local game stores, Disney Stores and Disney Parks on August 9, 2024, followed by mass market retailers and on August 23, 2024.

Ravensburger also announced an exclusive Shimmering Skies foil card featuring alternative artwork that will be available for a limited time in new, stickered copies of Disney Villainous: Introduction to Evil board game starting August 1, 2024. It will be available at hobby stores nationwide in the US and Canada and select retailers, including (US), Barnes & Nobles (US), Amazon (US & Canada), Indigo Bookstores (Canada), and Mastermind Toys (Canada).

In Shimmering Skies, the realm of Lorcana holds a great festival to celebrate its recent victory over Ursula, which concluded the previous set, Ursula’s Return. While most of Lorcana participates in the vibrant, fun-filled activities, a new mystery begins as our Illumineers search for a way to repair the worsening damage the Ursula glimmer caused to the Great Illuminary.

Shimmering Skies features Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph with the introduction of Disney characters like Vanellope Von Schweetz and Fix-it Felix, Jr. In addition, players can anticipate new gameplay mechanics with an evolved story and new art – all of which is infused with electric energy that amplifies both the celebration and the gameplay. More details on mechanics and other cards will be unveiled closer to availability. All cards in this set can be used to update existing Disney Lorcana TCG decks or played alongside the previously released sets, The First Chapter, Rise of the Floodborn, Into the Inklands, and Ursula’s Return.

The Disney Lorcana TCG set Shimmering Skies will include two starter decks featuring a combination of Emerald/Steel or Amethyst/Ruby ($16.99 USD/$21.99 CAD), booster packs of additional cards ($5.99 USD/$7.99 CAD) and a new Illumineer’s Trove ($49.99 USD/$64.99 CAD). New accessories include two new playmats, featuring Mirabel from Disney’s Encanto and the “Accomplished Mystic” glimmer of Belle from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, plus a new 9-pocket portfolio showcasing artwork from Disney Lorcana artist Nicholas Kole. New card sleeves and deck boxes will feature Disney’s Tiana and Aladdin. Plus, for the first time, a 9-pocket portfolio and card sleeves highlighting the Disney Lorcana TCG card back design will also be available.

A special-edition, foil version of a new Shimmering Skies card will be available exclusively in new copies of Disney Villainous: Introduction to Evil. First introduced in 2023 as a limited Disney100 offering, Disney Villainous: Introduction to Evil reintroduces some of the franchise’s first Disney Villains – Maleficent, Captain Hook, Ursula, and Prince John – with a reduced price point, beginner-friendly video resources and “remastered” gameplay based off both fan feedback and the Ravensburger team’s learnings while developing the Disney Villainous system.
