Kristen Stewart To Star In Romantic Thriller From Director of ‘Saint Maud’

Today, A24 and Film4 announced a new romantic thriller from Rose Glass (Saint Maud) called Love Lies Bleeding with Kristen Stewart to star. The film will be a co-production between A24 and Film 4, Channel 4’s movie arm that produced Saint Maud.

The film, based on a script co-written by Glass with Polish director Weronika Tofilska, is described as a “romance fuelled by ego, desire and the American Dream.” It was developed alongside Film 4, who are co-financing with A24. A24 are set to handle global release as well as produce, with Andrea Cornwell (Lobo Films) and Oliver Kassman (Escape Plan Productions) also on board as producers.

Glass won the Douglas Hickox Award for Best Debut Director at the British Independent Film Awards, and both British/Irish Film of the Year and Breakthrough British/Irish Filmmaker of the Year at the London Film Critics Circle Awards for her debut film Saint Maud. Glass is represented by Casarotto Ramsay.

Stewart is an avowed fan of Glass, stating in an interview earlier this year that Saint Maude was one of her favorite movies of the year. “She’s such a singular visionary artist,” the actor explained, “and such a little mousy, crazy, psycho – has so much to say, is absolutely going to change stuff for us. And I’m so excited to even just know her.”
