Disney’s Aladdin Trailer Drops Us Into a Whole New World!

Finally, a full-length trailer for Disney’s Aladdin has released. I for one am so excited! The trailer provides great moments introducing Mena Massoud’s Aladdin, hired by Jafar (Marwan Kenzari) to get him the well-known lamp. We also get to see Will Smith’s genie. Fortunately, he looks less uncanny valley when blue, and looks great when in his human disguise.

The Cave of Wonders, by the way, is one of my favorite sets already not including the entire atmosphere of this clearly metropolitan take on Agrabah (as it should be) and the Sultan’s palace!

Of course, multi-dimensional Princess Jasmine (Naomi Scott) gets to shine in the trailer too in between meeting Aladdin for the first time as he’s running from the guards to their magic carpet ride (their voices)!

And to put all our worries to rest, Abu, Raja, and Iago are all in the film!

Overall, the trailer improves on the last teaser and shows that at the very least; the cast can sing, the sets and costuming are gorgeous, and the special effects are pretty awesome. (Seriously, I need my mom to get me versions of Jasmine’s anarkalis.) Also who else wants to see the ridiculously fun fight scenes Guy Ritchie’s known for?

Only May 24th will tell if Aladdin is actually any good.

Aladdin stars Will Smith, Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott, Marwan Kenzari, Navid Negahban, Nasim Pedrad, Billy Magnussen, Numan Acar, Robby Haynes, and Frank Welker.
