They’ve conquered fantasy dungeons, they’ve conquered space, and they’ve even conquered Westeros. No stranger to licensing, for the first time Dire Wolf Digital will be licensing themselves in their newest addition to their family of board games. For the first time ever, the digital card game Eternal will come to meat space as a deckbuilding adventure in Eternal: Chronicles of the Throne.
Partnering again with Renegade Studios (Clank! series, Lotus, Lanterns, Raiders of the North Sea) to create the game, it will combine the strategy of a deck builder with the fast-paced combat of a card battler. Designed by Clank! lead designer Paul Dennen, Chronicles of the Throne will let players enter the “six-guns and sorcery” world of Eternal. Built to be re-playable and fast-paced, players will summon fantastic creatures and iconic characters as they attack their opponent and block their opponent’s attacks.
“When we first began to make Eternal, our crazy magical world of six guns and sorcery began to come to life around us,” said Scott Martins, President of Dire Wolf Digital. “We’re pleased to be working with our friends at Renegade to help Eternal make the jump from digital to physical gaming. Eternal: Chronicles of the Throne is the next step in that journey and one that we’re looking forward to sharing with existing players and new fans alike.”
The game won’t only benefit fans in real life, it’ll also come with some digital goodies to enhance your Eternal game. All copies of Chronicles will contain a code for 1 Draft ticket, 10 digital card packs, and an exclusive Curiox Dragon totem. And if you pre-order the game, you’ll get an additional Draft ticket. The announcement of the game comes just in time for the release of Dark Frontier, the sixth expansion to Eternal that introduces new stories, game mechanics, and over 200 new cards to the game.
Set for launch at GenCon 2019 and hit stores in August, you can pre-order Eternal: Chronicles of the Throne on Dire Wolf’s website, where it retails for $25.00, including the digital bonus items. You can play Eternal on PC, XBox One, and most mobile platforms, with it coming to the Nintendo Switch soon.
