Cosmere RPG Premieres New All-Star One-Shot Featuring Abubakar Salim and Jasper Cartwright

Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere universe will come to life in a newly announced tabletop actual play from 12 Sided Studios, Paragon Pictures, and Brotherwise Games. “Stormlight: Echoes of the Father” is an adventure for the Cosmere Roleplaying Game, featuring Jasper Cartwright (Dimension 20, NADDpod) as the Game Master, starring Abubakar Salim (House of the Dragon, Raised by Wolves), Jacqueline Emerson (The Hunger Games), Jane Douglas (Oxenventure), and Mark/Mara Hulmes (High Rollers, Critical Role).

The actual play is an original adventure set in Roshar, a world of storms, war, and political intrigue. Cartwright GMs a story in which Salim plays the heir to Highprince Roion from the Stormlight Archive novels. An adventuring party accompanies Salim’s character to the Shattered Plains to retrieve a Shardblade while facing various threats along the way. ‘Echoes of the Father” will premiere on Brandon Sanderson’s YouTube channel on Friday, November 14th.

“To get to craft a story with a world-class team behind me, an unbelievable table in front of me, and the unwavering support of Brotherwise has been one of the highlights of my career,” said Cartwright. “I have fallen in love with Roshar and the Cosmere RPG. I couldn’t be prouder of what we have created.”

While “Echoes of the Father” tells a standalone story, there’s room to expand it in the future. Says O’Neal, “We’ve been really impressed with 12 Sided Studios and hope this is just our first collaboration!”

The Cosmere RPG broke records last year as the most-funded game project on Kickstarter, and heads to store shelves on November 12th. When Dragonsteel and Brotherwise Games met the crew at 12 Sided Studios in late 2024, Creative Director Johnny O’Neal knew he’d found the perfect fit for a Stormlight actual play. “We were blown away by the performances that Jasper and the team brought to this project. And the technology is top-notch. Cosmere fans are going to love this!”
