Designer Josh Wood (Cat Lady, Santa Monica) drew inspiration from his personal experience to create this game. “I saved for three years to go to Japan with my girlfriend, Kathleen. I spent a lot of time working on the trip: writing notes, figuring out the train system, and watching countless travel influencers. I was even learning Japanese! Finally, we saved enough! We had the trip booked: flights, hotels, restaurants, EVERYTHING!– then the pandemic started. [The notes] were a painful reminder of the trip we didn’t get to take. Sure I could’ve thrown [them] away and moved on, but instead, I felt inspired to make this game.”, mentions Josh.

While bouncing between Tokyo and Kyoto, you’ll visit can’t-miss tourist attractions and encounter local flavors. Using over 120 beautifully illustrated cards drawn by Japan-based artists, you will discover activities and strategically place them to create your week-long itinerary. Puzzle out the optimal activities to maximize your experience while balancing your resources.
The game consists of 13 rounds in which players draw Activity cards and strategically place them on different days in their weeklong itinerary, followed by a final round in which they ultimately go on their planned trip, activating each of their cards in order along the way.
The player who collects the most points by the end of their trip is the winner!

Let’s Go! To Japan is coming to Kickstarter later this year and will feature the standard edition of the game and a deluxe edition, which will take you to the land of the rising sun!
