Today, A24 announced a new film from Aaron Schimberg, director of 2019 drama film Chained for Life. Stated to be a psychological thriller, it’s set to star Sebastian Stan (Falcon and the Winter Soldier, I, Tonya), Renate Reinsve (The Worst Person In The World, The Governesses ), and Adam Pearson (Under The Skin) in his second collaboration with Schimberg. Stan is also signed on as an executive producer.

The film centers around Edward, an outcast seeking a new life and fresh start. After he undergoes facial reconstructive surgery, he becomes fixated on a man starring as him in a stage production based on his former life. This will be Norwegian actress Reinsve’s second A24-produced film as well as her second outside of her native country.
Pearson made his acting debut in 2013’s Under The Skin after being connected with director Jonathan Glazer via the charity Changing Faces. Born with an aggressive form of Neurofibromatosis, Pearson has worked as an activist to end the stigma surrounding those with disabilities and facial deformities.
As with Chained for Life, Schimberg is both the writer and the director. Alongside A24, Christine Vachon and Gabriel Mayers of Killer Films, Vanessa McDonnell of Grand Motel Films and Jason Reif will produce.
Production is set to begin next month.
